QUILT PATTERNS
I have literally thousands of patterns to select from for overall and semi-custom quilting. I do not list my custom or heirloom patterns (just because there are too many) and reserve the right to put designs on your custom or heirloom job that I feel will enhance the beauty of your quilt. I do have patterns that complement each other for semi-custom quilting but borders are not listed here.
Below you’ll find categories of patterns. Please remember that when choosing a pattern, sometimes the obvious choice may not be the best choice. If you have a floral quilt, sometimes it’s best to select a pattern that is not a flower; perhaps a geometric print could be better. When customers come to my home, we look at the following criteria before selecting a pattern:
Who will be getting this quilt (age appropriateness for a design)?
How will this quilt be used (Grandma, your bed, picnic quilt, baby quilt, etc.)?
What type of pieced pattern is on your quilt top? What design would enhance the top?
What kinds of fabrics are in your top? Stars, stripes, flowers, Kaffe fabrics, Kansas Troubles fabrics, Bright, Juvenile? Sometimes there might be suggestions to many types of quilting for the type of fabrics in your top.
So, consider these kinds of questions when selecting your pattern. If, when your quilt arrives, I think another pattern or two might also befit your top, I’ll email you with those suggestions as well. Or, if selecting a pattern is just too hard, you can email me and I can select patterns that I think would be a nice compliment and you can select from my options.
NOTE: Please don’t look at the size and shape of the patterns; just look at the DESIGN of the pattern. Many patterns are shrunk to fit the size of the page you are viewing. I can enlarge or reduce patterns as needed with my Statler Stitcher. So, don’t disregard a pattern because you think it is too tight or too loose; I can enlarge or reduce that pattern to fit your scale requirements.
